Mingpao Weekly #2271: Rosy Business 3 to start filming next year? It all lies with Sheren Tang and Lee Tim Shing.
Scans from Mingpao Weekly #2271
Sheren Tang and Wayne Lai won their TV King and Queen awards consecutively thanks to the dramas Rosy Business and No Regrets. These dramas had once fuelled a wave of drama-watching here and swept major awards in award ceremonies. TVB has the intention of preparing to film Rosy Business 3 (RB 3). However, once Sheren has finished filming Beauty at War, her contract with TVB will come to an end. Ricky Wong has also made known his intention to ask her to join his new company CTI. Sheren places great emphasis on money and good scripts, so it is not known what her next move will be. On top of that, golden producer Lee Tim Shing is said to be retiring at the end of this year, so in order for RB 3 to materialise, it has to overcome these 2 "hurdles" first.

The charm of both Wayne Lai and Sheren Tang, who both won their TV King and Queen awards twice in a row, cannot be denied. Together with Teresa Mo, all three of them performed together in what Wayne termed as the 'date of the century'. He said that it was such a rare opportunity that all three of them, who are widely widely recognised as good actors, even got to showcase their acting skills. The ones who got to benefit the most were those fans who came from all over the world to see them perform; However, Wayne relishes all these. As for Sheren, she had an image makeover thanks to Mo Mo and showed off her feminine side...

TVBE news featuring all the No Regrets people
Wayne Lai and Sheren Tang attended the Mingpao Weekly Entertainment Awards 2011 together. Wayne won the 'Most Outstanding Actor' award based on No Regrets while Sheren Tang also won the 'Most Outstanding Actress' award based on the same drama. No Regrets also triumphed the other nominees by winning the 'Most Outstanding TV Programme'.
At the awards ceremony, Sheren and Wayne, who won the 'Most Outstanding Actor' and 'Most Outstanding Actress' awards together, were in a very good mood. They exhibited good chemistry in and outside the drama. After seeing their 'intimate' expressions, it was not surprising to see fans from both sides getting jealous.

People call him Uncle Tim. He is the golden producer who produced many classic dramas that belonged to the golden era of the Hong Kong television industry. From The Good, The Bad And The Ugly in the early days to the Rosy Business series now, many dramas throughout the years owe their success to him.
He is now 63 years old, and has spent nearly 40 years in this industry. He slowly worked his way up; from the props department, the scene department, the assistant script-editor to script-editor, until finally, he became a producer.

Hi everybody! It's voting time again, this time for the 43rd Mingpao Awards. No Regrets is being put at a disadvantage here because it was aired in Hong Kong last year. It's been nearly a year now since No Regrets first aired in Hong Kong, so I think many people may have forgotten about it by now. In fact, the other nominees include people who have participated in dramas that were aired this year. People's impression of them may be stronger, so we need to do whatever we can to help our No Regrets' team win the awards. This is the very least we can do as fans.
You are only allowed to vote for only ONE person at one time. But no worries, after voting for one, you can refresh the page and vote for the other person.
1) Click on https://marketing.omghk.com/htm/showbiz2011/cfm/form.cfm to get into the voting website.
2) Scroll all the way down until you see the word '視', which stands for the TV category.
3) We won't be able to vote for the best TV programme, so vote for Wayne Lai as the Most Outstanding Actor.
4) Submit your particulars as shown below. Please enter legitimate email hosts like Yahoo, Gmail, Hotmail etc.
After submission, you will see the 'thank you' message as shown below. If you don't see this, it means you have filled up something wrongly. After this, you can just click on the 'back button' on your internet browser, change your ID number and email address, and proceed on the step 5. It's much faster this way.
5) Repeat steps 1 and 2 to vote for Sheren Tang as the Most Outstanding Actress. Repeat step 4 after that.
6) I found this category rather weird. Don't Tim Gor and Cheung Wah Biu come together lol? I believe that both Tim Gor and Cheung Wah Biu do deserve recognition for what they have done as well. Without them, there won't be today's Sherayne. Repeat steps 1 and 2 and vote for either of them as the Most Outstanding TV Back-stage crew. Repeat step 4 after that.
Voting ends on 9th November 2011 (Wednesday), so please support them! ;)

Cheung Wah Biu is not returning. Plans for Rosy Business 3 fall through. Wayne Lai is disappointed. Sheren Tang is thankful.
TVB has been trying to get the golden script-writer Cheung Wah Biu to return to TVB in October. He was supposed to be working with Tim Gor Lee Tim Shing, Wayne Lai, Sheren Tang and the rest of the original cast members on Rosy Business 3. However, we have received news that Cheung's boss, Jimmy Lai, wants him to stay. As such, he has decided not to return to TVB. As the main leads of the dramas, both Sheren Tang and Wayne Lai have very different reactions. Wayne was very disappointed and said, "I was so happy over nothing." Sheren said, "It will be better for Wah Biu to return at a later date, because it was so hard for War and Beauty to have a sequel. Should the filming dates of both dramas clash, it will really be such a pity."

Not only did TVB's mega dramas War and Beauty and Rosy Business get good ratings, they also propelled many of the fa dans and siu sangs to huge popularity! The producers of both dramas, Producer Jonathan Chik and Producer Lee Tim Shing, have both announced filming of the sequels at the same time. As such, the fa dans and siu sangs are fighting neck-to-neck with each other to land a role in their dramas.
Both dramas can't do without Sheren Tang, who is busy with filming Mainland China dramas. Her role as Yu Fei in War and Beauty was very well-received, but she still lost out on the Best Actress award that year, which made her feel angry. She did not think much of the sequel to War and Beauty; on the other hand, she is willing to make time to film the third sequel for Rosy Business, which has made her win the Best Actress award consecutively for 2 years.

Wayne Lai and Sheren Tang have Producer Lee Tim Shing to thank for winning their TV King and Queen awards.
Wayne Lai won his TV King award twice based on the series Rosy Business and No Regrets, and this is all due to Cheung Wah Biu developing on his characters. It is said that Cheung Wah Biu will be returning to TVB in October and will be working with Lee Tim Shing on Rosy Business III. When Wayne Lai learnt that the "iron triangle" (made up of Cheung, Lee and himself) will be reunited, he was very happy, and it doesn't seem hard for him to win his 3rd TV King.

Here are more No Regrets'-related scans from last year's TV Series magazine #242! Enjoy reading! =D
Here's the clearer scan on Lee Tim Shing's interview! ^^
- Credits to 陆奇一000 of 义海豪情吧
Comments: Reading through all these scans make me realise how much I still miss No Regrets even though it has been nearly 5 months since this drama ended its run in Hong Kong. I kinda regretted not buying the No Regrets DVD from Hong Kong, but I prefer Scorpio East's version of the cover and it's about $2 cheaper here than in Hong Kong. xD
Oh, and Lee Tim Shing mentioned that there were 2 versions of episode 23!! I really want to know how the 1st version was like!!! >.<

Tim Gor’s words of wisdom: “You can lose, but don't be defeated”
As a stagehand in the props and scenery department, Lee Tim Sing (Tim Gor) joined TVB in 1969 and today, has worked his way up to become TVB’s Golden Producer. With a career that spans more than 40 years, Tim Gor has endured the various ‘ups and downs’ of the HK television industry. Known for his impartiality and fairness, Tim Gor is a man who thinks and acts according to his convictions – rare (and unique) qualities in today’s complex television industry. At 64 years old, Tim Gor is as busy as ever – his focus right now is figuring out how to fulfill his 50 episode obligation in the 1 year that he has left with the company. These past few years, Tim Gor has been constantly saying: “It’s enough! Time for me to retire…” yet, the more he says it, the more his passion and ‘fire’ for producing seem to burn strong – for proof, just look at his persistence in casting Nikki Chow as the main lead for his new series <<My Cruel Lover>>. Originally, Nikki did not have any chance of starring in the series due to her contract with record company BMA [TN: now part of the HKRIA, which is still locked in a royalty dispute with TVB], however with Tim Gor refusing to change the female lead of the series and insisting that the role was made especially for her, Nikki was eventually able to relieve her contract with BMA and sign an acting contract with TVB.

TV King Wayne Lai attended the press conference for Yan Chai Charity Show yesterday. He revealed that he would be singing many classic songs for the charity show itself, so he had been practising hard. He said that when his son was born about 10 over years ago, he would be singing children songs for him. Even if he goes back to the music scene now, he won't have a chance to get the Best Newcomer award. He said that he is best at singing Roman Tam's and Adam Cheng's songs, but he only got his chance when Rosy Business became such a big hit.
Wayne heard that many people have actually praised No Regrets for having very good background music, and they also wanted TVB to come up with the OST for it. He also revealed that Producer Lee Tim Shing had discussed with TVB executive Catherine Tsang about the OST for No Regrets, but was not sure whether it would materialise or not.

Comments: Yes yes yes! I want the OST please! ^^ I'm glad to note that we are not the only ones who think that the background music used is really good! =D

Mingpao Weekly #2197 Shall We Talk? - Heart of Greed's, Moonlight Resonance's, Rosy Business', No Regrets' golden script-writer loses faith in TVB
Wayne Lai and Sheren Tang became the first couple to win the Best Actor and Best Actress awards consecutively, but one of the regrets of that night was that No Regrets did not get the Best Drama award. Script-writer Cheung Wah Biu could only shake his head. It is a pity that there's no chance next year, because he has already left TVB and joined Jimmy Lai's Next TV station in Taiwan. On the week of TVB's awards ceremony, he came back specially from Taiwan to witness the ceremony.

Sheren Tang, Lee Tim Shing and Wayne Lai set new records with No Regrets. However, Wayne Lai has no intention to film the third installment. (I purposely made this phrase bigger lol!)
No Regrets, starring Wayne Lai and Sheren Tang as leads, ended with high ratings of 47 points, with 3 million viewers watching and crying at the same time. Last Sunday, No Regrets dominated the awards ceremony, with Sheren Tang and Wayne Lai winning Best Actress and Best Actor again, and Evergreen Mak and Fala Chen winning Best Supporting Actor and Best Supporting Actress.
Virginia Lok: TVB has a lot of money
TVB deputy executive chairman Mr Norman Leung is very happy with No Regrets' results, and invited everybody involved in this drama for dinner at a Western food restaurant. Wayne and Sheren naturally became the centre of attraction, and even the actors who played the Japanese soldiers were also present.
After that, Sheren interacted with a few TVB high executives including Stephan Chan, Virginia Lok and Catherine Tsang. Lok has dangled attractive terms in order to coax Sheren and Wayne into signing a contract with TVB. She said, "In the past, we didn't dare to bring up this matter, because we're afraid it would affect the results. This is now the good time to bring it up. We are very sincere. TVB has the most money. However, Wayne's wife is his manager, and will forever be. Sheren also has a manager whom she gets along very well with. Unless her manager retires, I don't think she'll sign on with TVB."
As to whether she'll sign on with TVB, Sheren said, "If my manager retires, TVB will have the upper hand. I've always filmed TVB dramas without any bond, and I don't know when I'll retire." Will she take this chance to increase her pay? Sheren joked that Gau Mui has a lot of money.
As for Wayne, he has no intention of asking for a higher pay, but has jokingly praised himself for being worth so much money.

TVB's anniversary drama No Regrets and sitcom Someday aired their final episodes the night before at TVB City, with 800 people watching the finale together with them. Last year, Rosy Business's Chai Gau held peacefully as he held 4th Wife's hands, making many people cry; in No Regrets, Gau Mui and Lau Sing only met each other after 30 years apart and lived the rest of their lives together. The ending of this drama was already revealed by gossip magazines long ago, making the back-stage crew very angry. However, even people like Sheren Tang, Helen Ma, Elena Kong etc, who knew the ending long ago couldn't help but cry with the rest of the audience.

Shopping centres rush to be host venues for No Regrets' ending
Wayne Lai and Sheren Tang have not seen their new drama. This night, when it aired, everybody sat down to watch it together. Tim Gor was nervously standing behind the both of them and watching their reactions.
Last year's Rosy Business' grabbed the Best Drama, TV King, TV Queen, Best Supporting Actress and Most Improved Male Actor awards. This year, the original cast and crew came up with No Regrets. Even though the drama had not been aired yet, but its popularity cannot be denied. Many big shopping centres are now rushing to become host venues No Regrets' ending and have already named high prices to host it. Besides winning on the popularity side, it seems that TVB will be getting a lot of money as well!
