Postcript for No Regrets

| Friday, March 18, 2011 | 0 comments |

I've seen the comments on the forums, and somebody has thoroughly analysed and reviewed this drama. I wish to thank everybody for using their heart to watch No Regrets. No Regrets itself has already surpassed many other dramas, so many of the scenes inside cannot be seen and measured using soap-opera standards. The author/topic-starter (referring to some_one) is really clever, and is able to analyse every little details of this drama very thoroughly.

Comments: Haha, I don't know why I found this particular blog post so hard to translate! xD I guess that's because not everything can be expressed in English, but I've tried my best to keep the translation as close to Wayne's original thoughts as close as possible. Wayne's Chinese is really very cheem lol! His style of writing is really very good though! =O

I'm really glad that No Regrets is still able to evoke such emotions from the audience, because it is really such a well-made drama that will continue to generate much discussion long after it has aired.

Anyway, I know which comment Wayne was referring to. If you know Chinese, may I refer you to this post? some_one really wrote all his/her thoughts very well. I'm very impressed by his/her style of writing!! *jaw drops* All my expressions and thoughts are succinctly summarised by him/her! ^^ some_one, if you are reading this, 你真的好棒啊! ^^

On the 22nd and 23rd of January, I will be in Singapore to do promotion, and I believe that I will have the chance to interact with my fans from this country. On the 30th of this month, I will be in Malaysia's Genting to countdown to Chinese New Year. This year is a rare opportunity for me to meet fans from all over the world since I have travelled a lot this year. First, I was in Beijing and Guangzhou, Macau, and will soon be in Singapore, Malaysia and Canada. I won't have the chance to go to some places, but I hope that in the near future, I will be able to travel to more places and meet up with my fans.

Comments: I would really love to pick Wayne up from Changi Airport! After all, Changi Airport is my most favourite place in Singapore. Everybody who knows me knows that the airport is like my second home. So naturally, I'm very happy that Wayne will get to see how brilliant Changi Airport is. Unfortunately, I think I'll have to work, so I think I'll just fan-girl over him at Causeway Point! Yay! Finally a place that is rather close to my house! =D

And and and, is this pure coincidence or what, but I actually asked Wayne to come to Singapore in my letter to him! So No Regrets' fans, thank me! Nah, I'm joking! =D I really can't contain my excitement! I'm really looking forward to seeing Michael (he's one of my favs too!) and Shirley, whom I have quite a good impression of after watching A Fistful of Stances and A Chip Off The Old Block! ^^

I'll ask Wayne to sign my TVB Weekly #700 and #702! =D Don't snatch him away from me ah! xD

Losing this year's Best Drama award is really one of the biggest regrets in my life. I can't hide my disappointment even though I won the Best Actor award. Let me share a secret with you guys. When I went on stage, Johnnie To told me that even though he didn't watch No Regrets, but from the trailer that was played during the announcement of the top 5 nominees for Best Drama, he knew that No Regrets was a good drama. His frankness, his views and his intelligence made me respect him even more. On behalf of the No Regrets' team and fans of No Regrets, I salute Director To!

Comments: Wayne's blog post made me smile. No Regrets may have lost the Best Drama award, but it has already won in the hearts of the audience. =) This is really very evident, especially on Weibo. Just look at the number of people in the entertainment industry who love watching No Regrets (Eason Chan, Maggie Cheung, Jessica Hsuan etc.)... So, I'm not sad now! =D No matter what the results are, No Regrets is truly one of the best dramas that TVB has made! =D

Tonight's episode will talk about the concentration camp, and of course, Ms Leung will appear as well! I'm really thankful for the chance to appear! Everybody, please watch tonight's episode! :))

Comments: I still don't really know what role she plays here though, but I heard that Yaka is really proficient in Japanese. She's been teaching all the "Japanese soldiers" in this drama how to speak Japanese haha! ^^

Time passes really quickly, and 18th October is about to arrive! Whether it is the company, the media, or the people in the streets, everybody seems to be anticipating the broadcast of No Regrets. Actually, I'm anticipating this drama more than anybody else, because I know that Lau Sing will become the one friend whom I will never forget. He has gone through what the Chinese people had gone through, and has left a deep impression on me.

I have no idea who Lee Man Fun is, but apparently, she is one of the cast in No Regrets...

I am very happy to be filming No Regrets. Moreover, I have many scenes with Wayne Lai. I think this role is fun to play!

Wayne Lai's message to fans

| Saturday, September 4, 2010 | 0 comments |

Seeing all the messages that fans have left for me makes me feel really enlightened. Dr Ming will come out next week, and Lau Sing will be seeing you guys in the middle of October. Hopefully, everybody can guide me along. I just finished shooting an ad for a hotel group. I have worked with them for many years and they treat me like a friend, really many thanks to them. Life is really meaningful and heart-warming when I know that there are so many people who care about me.

Comments: I suppose Dr Ming is his character in Someday. xD I'm not sure about this though, but I can't wait for No Regrets to be broadcasted (even though I can't watch it!). =D

No longer the bad boy @ No Regrets

| Thursday, August 19, 2010 | 0 comments |
I acted as the evil guy Tseung Bit-man in Rosy Business, but am no longer so in the new drama No Regrets. This time round, my character is a person with low status and has lived with his grandmother since young. My grandmother came from the village to Guangzhou in search for a better life for me. Because part of this drama is about the war, which lasted for 8 years, I did my homework and watched documentaries on the Rape of Nanking in order to immerse myself into my character, so much so that I could not help but to scream my emotions out.

My grandmother came to Guangzhou in search for a better life for me.

After coming to Guangzhou, I became a policeman with the help of a middleman and was Wayne Lai's surbodinate. Because of this, we became as close as brothers.

This character will undergo many drastic changes in this drama. To me, my character this time round is really challenging.

During the war, I was bullied by the Japanese soldiers.

In this drama, Evergreen Mak is Wayne Lai's and my boss. He is one who is cruel and betrays people for the sake of monetary benefits.

- Credits to Pierre Ngo's TVB blog

Comments: Haha, I think I need to some time to get used to him playing a good guy again. His portrayal in Rosy Business as the evil son is still imprinted in my mind. =P

Bad woman betrays sister @ No Regrets

| Saturday, August 14, 2010 | 0 comments |
In No Regrets, I am acting as Hon Yu Ha's daughter and is very greedy and manipulative. In this drama, Sheren Tang and my mother are good friends, and she treats me like her daughter. However, my character is really no good. I was caught by the Japanese soldiers and to escape, I lied to them that Fala Chen was committing adultery and told them to catch her. I haven't acted this type of role before, so hopefully the audience will accept!

In this drama, I may look innocent, but I'm actually really manipulative and greedy.

Susan Tse, who acts as Sheren's aunt here, will make use of me frequently.

Elliot Ngok and I will have some feelings for each other.

Rosy Business has received praises from audiences and critics alike. No Regrets is being led by the same cast and I am sure that everybody is anticipating it.

Comments: Wow! Nancy's character really sounds very complex! If everything goes well, I see a potential Best Supporting Actress for TVB 43rd Anniversary Award ceremony! =D Go Nancy! ^^

Clarifications!

| Saturday, July 10, 2010 | 0 comments |

Filming for No Regrets is coming to an end now. The hot weather did not hinder the filming process, and I hereby sincerely thank everybody for their support. Although outdoor filming was tough, I feel a great sense of satisfaction. I felt as if I have experienced a lot from this drama, and this suffering is worth it. Recently, news reports have mentioned that I kept NG-ing during the outdoor filming. I have a clarification to make, so as not to let everybody worry about me. That night, a newspaper photographer happened to stay and watch us film our drama. He took some photos of us and then left. However, it did not occur to me that he would write such things! The photos published in the newspapers are in fact, "real" in the drama. Lau Sing and Miss Nine were really laughing at each other, and not because we were NG-ing. So, I hope that people will think twice before believing all these rumours! Have a happy summer!

Comments: Haha! I'm glad that this is really part of the storyline! I really want to see how the relationship between Miss Nine and Lau Sing turn out to be! =D And I know that both Wayne and Sheren are professional enough not to keep making mistakes during filming! ^^

I like this very much!!!! Haha, it's pretty boring to always act as a "normal" girl. This new role enables me to better understand my character. The make-up is much simpler as I used the men's foundation (to make myself look darker). It's that simple. After that, I just have to make myself look dirtier. There's no need to draw dark eye-circles and all because in this drama, my role is to move dead bodies and run away. It's tiring and tough. Moreover, I am very poor and don't have food to eat, hence I won't be so energetic. As for my hair, there's also no need to comb it. However, before I knock off, I must put on my make-up and tidy up myself, if not I'll be mistaken for a loony. Haha!

I think I look like a beggar here. What do you people think? If I dress like this and eat, I'll really be one!! ^^

Comments: Oh no... I think Elliot Ngok's character will die in this drama again... ._. I'm sorry for the spoilers though, but if Wayne posted these pictures up, that means the director wants us to know that Cheng Long Gwan will die. =(
