Wayne Lai, Sheren Tang and Lee Tim Shing to film RB 3?

| Thursday, August 23, 2012 | 4 comments |

Wayne and Sheren collaborate for Rosy Business 3 in order to fight the looming TV battle

The free Hong Kong TV licences will be given out next year. With a TV war looming ahead, in order to secure its position as the head, TVB has lured people like Wong Jing and Eric Tsang back to help with the promise of good money. They have also asked seven-time movie queen Deanie Ip and Andy Lau to come back to film dramas. TVB has been so eager to retain whatever talents it has. It is said that they managed to persuade golden producer Lee Tim Shing to stay on even though his contract with TVB ends at the end of the year. Tim Gor has promised to produce a drama for TVB. He and Wayne Lai have also managed to persuade Sheren Tang into collaborating for Rosy Business 3 (RB 3). Wayne hopes to be able to become a 3-time TV King, thereby creating history in the process.

Mingpao Weekly #2271: Rosy Business 3 to start filming next year? It all lies with Sheren Tang and Lee Tim Shing.

Scans from Mingpao Weekly #2271

Sheren Tang and Wayne Lai won their TV King and Queen awards consecutively thanks to the dramas Rosy Business and No Regrets. These dramas had once fuelled a wave of drama-watching here and swept major awards in award ceremonies. TVB has the intention of preparing to film Rosy Business 3 (RB 3). However, once Sheren has finished filming Beauty at War, her contract with TVB will come to an end. Ricky Wong has also made known his intention to ask her to join his new company CTI. Sheren places great emphasis on money and good scripts, so it is not known what her next move will be. On top of that, golden producer Lee Tim Shing is said to be retiring at the end of this year, so in order for RB 3 to materialise, it has to overcome these 2 "hurdles" first.

Mingpao Weekly Entertainment Awards

TVBE news featuring all the No Regrets people

Wayne Lai and Sheren Tang attended the Mingpao Weekly Entertainment Awards 2011 together. Wayne won the 'Most Outstanding Actor' award based on No Regrets while Sheren Tang also won the 'Most Outstanding Actress' award based on the same drama. No Regrets also triumphed the other nominees by winning the 'Most Outstanding TV Programme'.

At the awards ceremony, Sheren and Wayne, who won the 'Most Outstanding Actor' and 'Most Outstanding Actress' awards together, were in a very good mood. They exhibited good chemistry in and outside the drama. After seeing their 'intimate' expressions, it was not surprising to see fans from both sides getting jealous.

Most Outstanding TV Programme: No Regrets
Most Outstanding TV Actor: Wayne Lai (No Regrets)
Most Outstanding TV Actress: Sheren Tang (No Regrets)

43rd Mingpao Weekly Entertainment Awards (nomination list)

| Saturday, October 8, 2011 | 4 comments |

Hi everybody! It's voting time again, this time for the 43rd Mingpao Awards. No Regrets is being put at a disadvantage here because it was aired in Hong Kong last year. It's been nearly a year now since No Regrets first aired in Hong Kong, so I think many people may have forgotten about it by now. In fact, the other nominees include people who have participated in dramas that were aired this year. People's impression of them may be stronger, so we need to do whatever we can to help our No Regrets' team win the awards. This is the very least we can do as fans.

You are only allowed to vote for only ONE person at one time. But no worries, after voting for one, you can refresh the page and vote for the other person.

1) Click on https://marketing.omghk.com/htm/showbiz2011/cfm/form.cfm to get into the voting website.

2) Scroll all the way down until you see the word '視', which stands for the TV category.

3) We won't be able to vote for the best TV programme, so vote for Wayne Lai as the Most Outstanding Actor.

4) Submit your particulars as shown below. Please enter legitimate email hosts like Yahoo, Gmail, Hotmail etc.

After submission, you will see the 'thank you' message as shown below. If you don't see this, it means you have filled up something wrongly. After this, you can just click on the 'back button' on your internet browser, change your ID number and email address, and proceed on the step 5. It's much faster this way.

5) Repeat steps 1 and 2 to vote for Sheren Tang as the Most Outstanding Actress. Repeat step 4 after that.

6) I found this category rather weird. Don't Tim Gor and Cheung Wah Biu come together lol? I believe that both Tim Gor and Cheung Wah Biu do deserve recognition for what they have done as well. Without them, there won't be today's Sherayne. Repeat steps 1 and 2 and vote for either of them as the Most Outstanding TV Back-stage crew. Repeat step 4 after that.

Voting ends on 9th November 2011 (Wednesday), so please support them! ;)

Rosy Business 3 falls through

| Saturday, September 10, 2011 | 12 comments |

Cheung Wah Biu is not returning. Plans for Rosy Business 3 fall through. Wayne Lai is disappointed. Sheren Tang is thankful.

TVB has been trying to get the golden script-writer Cheung Wah Biu to return to TVB in October. He was supposed to be working with Tim Gor Lee Tim Shing, Wayne Lai, Sheren Tang and the rest of the original cast members on Rosy Business 3. However, we have received news that Cheung's boss, Jimmy Lai, wants him to stay. As such, he has decided not to return to TVB. As the main leads of the dramas, both Sheren Tang and Wayne Lai have very different reactions. Wayne was very disappointed and said, "I was so happy over nothing." Sheren said, "It will be better for Wah Biu to return at a later date, because it was so hard for War and Beauty to have a sequel. Should the filming dates of both dramas clash, it will really be such a pity."

Rosy Business series cast to reunite

| Friday, August 5, 2011 | 34 comments |
Lau Sing and Gau Gu Leong were 2 characters which won the hearts of the viewers. Wayne Lai and Sheren Tang may just have the chance to film Rosy Business III.

Wayne Lai and Sheren Tang have Producer Lee Tim Shing to thank for winning their TV King and Queen awards.

Wayne Lai won his TV King award twice based on the series Rosy Business and No Regrets, and this is all due to Cheung Wah Biu developing on his characters. It is said that Cheung Wah Biu will be returning to TVB in October and will be working with Lee Tim Shing on Rosy Business III. When Wayne Lai learnt that the "iron triangle" (made up of Cheung, Lee and himself) will be reunited, he was very happy, and it doesn't seem hard for him to win his 3rd TV King.

Cheung Wah Biu may be returning to TVB

Wayne Lai supports Cheung Wah Biu to come back
The 'golden script-writer' who once wrote TVB dramas Rosy Business and No Regrets had gone to Taiwan to further develop his career. It was said that the dramas that he had written did not suit the taste of the locals there, so he may be coming back to TVB to work with producer Lee Tim Shing. About working with Lee once more, Cheung Wah Biu did not elaborate further. Wayne Lai, who became a 2-time TV King winner based on Cheung's dramas, gave his full support to Cheung when he heard the news. "Me, Wah Biu and Tim Gor form the 'iron triangle'. If he comes back, it's my birthday wish fulfilled!" Tim Gor also welcomes Cheung Wah Biu to come back as he can help out for his new drama, which is slated to start filming in September.

Comments: Wow, if Cheung Wah Biu is really returning, then it's really good! =D I think Lee Tim Shing should be filming his last drama in September (lol, we all thought that his last drama was No Regrets, but he renewed his contract with TVB). Should there be another Lee-Cheung collaboration, no matter who the actors are, I will definitely be looking forward to it.

To be honest, most TVB dramas this year are very 'mo liu' (though I like watching Only You) and haven't been able to match up to some of last year's dramas (not to mention dramas from years ago). I really hope that this would mark a new beginning for TVB, if not it's back to Korean dramas for me (which I have watched a lot more these few days).

Mingpao Weekly #2197: Cheung Wah Biu loses faith in TVB

Mingpao Weekly #2197 Shall We Talk? - Heart of Greed's, Moonlight Resonance's, Rosy Business', No Regrets' golden script-writer loses faith in TVB

Wayne Lai and Sheren Tang became the first couple to win the Best Actor and Best Actress awards consecutively, but one of the regrets of that night was that No Regrets did not get the Best Drama award. Script-writer Cheung Wah Biu could only shake his head. It is a pity that there's no chance next year, because he has already left TVB and joined Jimmy Lai's Next TV station in Taiwan. On the week of TVB's awards ceremony, he came back specially from Taiwan to witness the ceremony.

Shopping centres rush to be host venues for No Regrets' ending
Wayne Lai and Sheren Tang have not seen their new drama. This night, when it aired, everybody sat down to watch it together. Tim Gor was nervously standing behind the both of them and watching their reactions.

Last year's Rosy Business' grabbed the Best Drama, TV King, TV Queen, Best Supporting Actress and Most Improved Male Actor awards. This year, the original cast and crew came up with No Regrets. Even though the drama had not been aired yet, but its popularity cannot be denied. Many big shopping centres are now rushing to become host venues No Regrets' ending and have already named high prices to host it. Besides winning on the popularity side, it seems that TVB will be getting a lot of money as well!

No Regrets will become my representative work!

| Tuesday, June 29, 2010 | 0 comments |
Wayne Lai has filmed many drama series, but he says that No Regrets is the drama that makes him feels attachment for. Since he mentioned that it will become his representative work, I believe that his chances of becoming TV King again is great! By Yu Ren Juan

Earlier on, Wayne Lai, Elliot Ngok and Pierre Ngo were at a lychee garden filming a blast scene in No Regrets. The drama is set during the turbulent times in China, where Wayne and Sheren have split up in a bid to escape. Sheren has been arranged to go to USA while Wayne, Pierre and Elliot have chosen to wait till the war is over being joining her in USA. Tragically, they were involved in the bomb blast and Elliot didn't live.

Producer has a lot of experience
Although it kept raining during the filming, but since everything was already arranged, the outdoor filming team have to brave the rain to work. A small rabbit from the forest suddenly came on screen. The rabbit was really cute, and Wayne decided to take a photo with it.

This time round, Wayne's role will be very heavy. He was very worried about how he should go about acting his character, but now that the drama has nearly ended its filming, he can finally rest. "This drama is really intense. Besides have more scenes with Sheren, the storyline is also more developed. This is the drama that has made me feel so attached to it. It can be said that it will be my representative work."

Wayne praised Producer Lee Tim Shing and Script-writer Cheung Wah Biu for their experience as they are very clear on what the audience want to see. He revealed that this drama is set in the 1930s, and it portrays the toughest times that China has undergone. He believes that this will appeal to the older generations. During the filming, he has also realised that Producer Lee and Script-writer Cheung have high hopes for this drama, and as an artiste, he is looking forward to watching it.

Policemen meets female drug dealer

| Friday, May 21, 2010 | 0 comments |
No Regrets takes its storyline from the Japanese Occupation in Guangzhou. I will be a policeman while Sheren Tang will be a female triad boss who deals with drugs. My role this time round is difficult. Moreover, people have high expectations for this drama, hence I have more stress. However, we are confident that this drama will break Rosy Business's records, because No Regrets is being led by the same cast and the same back-stage crew. This drama will also be Script-writer Cheung Wah Biu's last work for TVB. If we do not do it well, we will disappoint him, so we are giving our all for this drama!

Lau Sing is different from Chai Gau as he is a righteous person.

After working with Kara Hui in Rosy Business, we do have some chemistry today. However, it is inevitable that we will have NGs.

In this drama, I'm always with Pierre Ngo and Raymond Wong to maintain the safety of the town.

Fala is my sister in this drama.

Elena Kong will be my wife in this drama. She sees Fala as a family member, so everybody gets along well.

No Regrets faces setbacks - Female lead raises salary; Writer leaves

| Monday, April 12, 2010 | 0 comments |

No Regrets cast

TVB's grand production, No Regrets, started filming the day before. However, it faced many setbacks. First, script-writer Cheung Wah Biu has decided to leave TVB for a new TV station in Taiwan. Next, Sheren Tang has suddenly decided to raise her salary, greatly exceeding the drama's initial budget. To cut down on budget, there is a need to cut down on her scenes, but the script has already been completed, leaving the production crew in a fluster!

Last year, Rosy Business was very well-received and won many awards. Besides Wayne Lai and Sheren Tang being among the hottest leads now with higher salaries, golden script-writer Cheung Wah Biu apparently left TVB after being offered a higher salary and position by the new TV station in Taiwan. Cheung Wah Biu has been with TVB for 30 years. Besides having amassed a great deal of experience, he has also nurtured many script-writers and script editors. When he leaved TVB for Taiwan, he will bring along many experienced writers and production crew.

Many backstage crew and production crew members are intending to leave TVB. TVB is trying to lessen its loss by persuading people to stay on so that there won't be a vacuum.

No Regret's script has not been completed and Cheung Wah Biu is leaving. Now, Sheren Tang is even rumoured to have asked for a pay raise, but it has been confirmed that there is just some nonsensical nonsense cooked up by a random reporter. However, with the script-writer leaving, it is now hard to guarantee the success of the drama.

Comments: Yes, it is confirmed that Cheung Wah Biu is leaving, but please do not believe everything you have heard from the gossip news. Sheren Tang did not ever ask for a pay raise at all! She was quite angry and hurt when she heard about the news, and this is perfectly understandable, since the news have effectively slandered her. While Cheung Wah Biu has already left, he has completed the script already, so I still have faith in No Regrets! I'm really anticipating it! ^^

Wayne Lai to sing with Sheren Tang

| Tuesday, March 2, 2010 | 0 comments |

Reports pointed out that Script-writer Cheung Wah Biu, who was in-charge of Rosy Business, was about to leave TVB, leaving No Regrets' fate in a limbo. Yesterday, Wayne Lai accepted an interview and assured everybody that No Regrets will begin filming as soon as possible.

Wayne said, "I've seen the scripts for the first 15 episodes. This time round, I will have scenes with Sheren Tang right from the start. The storyline is not only gripping, but will also make one watch one episode after another. (When will it be aired?) It will probably be an Anniversary series. I am now discussing the details with Producer Lee to let Sheren and I sing the sub-theme song. The theme song will be sung by a professional singer though. This drama is set in to 1930s, so I cannot be too fat. However, I tend to get fat after I rest a while, so I have to lose about 10 pounds!

Also, he mentioned that during Chinese New Year, he went to Canada. "The oysters there are really cheap! No wonder so many people are migrating to Canada! (Will you send your son there to study?) Somebody I know is also migrating. He said that I need about $80 000 to move my whole family to Canada. However, I wish to remain in Hong Kong to film dramas, and my son is only 12 years old, so it's not the time to discuss about it now.

Comments: I hope that it's really true that Sheren and Wayne will sing the sub-theme song! They sang really very well during last year's Anniversary celebrations! I can't wait to hear their voices blend together again! =D

Wayne Lai Takes On Difficult Role in No Regrets

| Friday, February 26, 2010 | 0 comments |

Wayne and Cheung Wah Biu

According to the Hong Kong media, Wayne Lai went back to TVB yesterday to try on his costumes for No Regrets and also to discuss details about the new drama with out-going script-writer, Cheung Wah Biu.

Wayne said, "This drama will start filming in March 2010 and will wrap up by July. Wah Biu is going to leave in April, but he will stay until he has finished the script for this drama. I've seen the scripts for 10 episodes. This character is really more complex than Chai Gau. Wah Biu is trying to test my limits!" When asked about his chances of winning, he replied, "Let's talk about it when I have done well."

Comments: It's really such a pity that Cheung Wah Biu is leaving. He is the one who writes one of the best TVB drama scripts out there. I think my life would have been much duller had it not been for his dramas. And go Wayne, I know you can do it! =D
