Wayne Lai and Sheren Tang in Seoul TV Awards 2011

According to the Hong Kong media, Wayne Lai has been nominated for the 6th Seoul TV Awards based on his role in No Regrets. He will be competing with Jang Geun-seok, Hyun Bin and Kwon Sang-woo for the Netizen Appeal Award; Charmaine Sheh and Sheren Tang are also nominated for the Most Popular Actress award. Wayne described this as good news. "Korean dramas have really very high standards. The fact that No Regrets has been nominated shows that our standard is not bad. I'm really very happy to get the recognition of the Koreans. I will discuss with Sheren and hope that both of us will be able to attend this awards ceremony together.

The battle for TV King will be between Jang Geun-seok, Hyun Bin, Song Seung-hoon and Micky while Ha Ji-won, Moon Geun-young and Kim Tae-hee will fight it out for TV Queen.

The namelist of the nominees for the Seoul International TV Awards 2011 were released yesterday. TVB dramas with high ratings like No Regrets and Can't Buy Me Love were included and they will be competing with dramas like Baker King Kim Tak-gu and Queen of Reversals for the Best Drama Award (drama series) while Korean dramas Sungkyunkwan Scandal, Secret Garden and Japanese drama Fuyu No Sakura will be competing for the Best Drama Award in the mini-series category. Our local stars Wayne Lai, Sheren Tang, Moses Chan and Charmaine Sheh will be competing with Korean stars Hyun Bin and Ha Ji-won for the Most Popular Artistes award. The results will be known on the 31st August 2011, with a live broadcast on the Korean SBS channel.

Comments: It's really good that dramas like No Regrets can get recognition at the international TV festivals like the Seoul International TV Awards. This is a Korean-hosted TV festival, so I do expect the Koreans and their dramas to dominate, but at least No Regrets and Sherayne will get exposure in Korea!
