Wayne Lai and Sheren Tang wishes everybody a Happy Chinese New Year!

Hello people! How was the first day of New Year for you guys? My haul this year ain't too bad, but ahem, part of the money is going somewhere soon! >.< I hope I won't live to regret it lol. ._.

Sheren Tang and Wayne Lai have won their second consecutive Best Actress and Best Actor awards together, and they have enjoyed great popularity for the past 2 years. On the first day of the Lunar New Year, they announced that after their collaboration in the popular drama No Regrets, they will be collaborating with each other for the third time. However, this time round, they won't be working together for a drama, but an advertisement for an insurance company in a bid to earn more money. Wayne hopes that sparks will fly between him and Sheren, especially when this is the first time they are collaborating with each other in modern clothes. He wishes to find more money-making opportunities and lead a more fruitful Year of the Rabbit.

Today is the first day of the Lunar New Year. TV King Wayne Lai and TV Queen Sheren Tang wishes our newspaper readers a healthy and prosperous new year. Although Wayne is busy filming a new TVB drama titled Forensic Heroes 3 and Sheren is busy with her church matters, but the 2 of them took time off to pose for our newspapers. When Wayne was doing the lion dance, Sheren was beating the drums, and their chemistry cannot be denied. In 2009, Wayne and Sheren first collaborated together in Lee Tim Shing's Rosy Business, and this brought about their first ever TV King and Queen awards in their lives. When the original cast and crew collaborated again for No Regrets, it actually netted them their second consecutive TV King and Queen awards, and their popularity hasn't waned since then.

No Regrets made Wayne and Sheren win their second consecutive TV King and Queen awards, bringing their acting careers to a brand new peak.


Money rolls in when they film ads together
Sheren was asked if she would collaborate with Wayne again for a new drama. She said, "In the short run, I don't think there's such a possibility, because I want to work with different colleagues. With new chemistry being established with other people, the audience will also find the pairing fresher." Although it is hard for the 2 of them to work together again, but in actual fact, this on-screen couple has been secretly working together for the third time. Sheren said, "We are filming an ad for an insurance company. Although we have been attending functions together for the past 2 years, but this is the first time that we are filming an ad together." Wayne said, "In the past when I collaborate with Sheren, if it is not a pre-modern drama, then it is set in the 1930s. This time round, both of us are wearing modern clothes, and it's my first time filming an ad with her. This is really rare, so I don't really care how much I get paid for the ad. It is not whether I agree to film or not. This time round, the company has really made a lot of concessions for us. This is something which I have not seen before, and I think it's really cute to let people see how we look in modern clothes, so I decided to give it a try. I hope that the chemistry between us will prevail. Who knows, the other companies may start finding the both of us to film more ads together."

After No Regrets, Wayne and Sheren collaborate again, but this time round, they will be filming an ad, not a drama.

During the new year, Wayne has to drag his wife along to Malaysia and USA to earn money. Thankfully, his son, Ching Kiu, has no grievances.

Wayne treasures all opportunities to make money

Wayne will be busy until the 10th day of the Lunar New Year as he is not willing to give up on any money-making opportunities.

However, although they are only filming an ad in modern clothes this time round, but Wayne jokes and says that it's tiring. "We filmed for 15 hours the other day, from 9 am till 12 am. We filmed about 10 different styles, and our backgrounds and make-up have to be changed for about 10 over times. It's more tiring than filming a drama. After wrapping up the filming at 12 am, I still had to rush back to TVB to continue filming Forensic Heroes 3. I was so dead-beat that I did not know how to describe how I was feeling at that time!"

For this new year, Wayne is not resting on his laurels. Instead, he is still finding opportunities to make money even though he has not spent the new year with his son for the past 2 years. "I went to Malaysia on the 30th of the last lunar year. It's the same as last year. I came back on the first day of the new lunar new year, but had to transfer to another plane to attend a concert in Canada. I only came back on the 10th day of the lunar new year. My son did not go along with me and my wife as he has to start school on the 10th." Does his son have any grievances as he did not get to spend the new year with his dad for the second year running? "No, he knows that I'm working so hard to sustain and provide for this family. I have to make use of all the available opportunities to make money. Although I feel really tired, but it beats having nothing to do at all! I believe that there won't be such opportunities anymore in the coming year. I have been in this industry for so many years, so I understand how to play the game in this sector."

Sheren treasures family reunion

No different from the past years, Sheren wraps up her work early to spend the time with her family.

Wayne spends the new year to make more money, but Sheren is just the opposite. She will take the new year to spend more time with her family. "The way I spend this year is the same as the way I spent last year. I will wrap up my work early, and spend the new year with my family. Before that, I was busy with other things and my church, so I did not spend much time with my family. New year is the good opportunity to catch up with them."
