Wayne Lai memorises scripts very quickly

| Wednesday, January 26, 2011 | 3 comments |
Besides having fantastic acting skills, TVB's TV King Wayne Lai has good writing skills as well, sharing his thoughts about life and about his 24 years in the entertainment sector in this new book titled "戲劇浮生: 黎耀祥論演技與人生". Wayne loves writing and languages. In fact, due to his love for memorising Tang poetry when he was young, he is able to memorise scripts effortlessly.

Wayne Lai misses Chai Gau and Lau Sing

| Tuesday, January 25, 2011 | 5 comments |
For the past 2 TVB Awards ceremonies, Wayne won the Best Actor awards 2 times based on Rosy Business and No Regrets, bringing him much popularity.

He accepted an interview with our newspaper the day before, when he was in Singapore, and admitted that he's a romantic at heart. He misses his "old friends", Chai Gau and Lau Sing very much!

He said, "I feel that a role is every artiste's good friend since we spend a lot of time with each other. When he leaves, it's inevitable that you will feel uncomfortable. I should say that I relish the feeling of missing my characters. At times, when I sit on the sofa, I will think about what Chai Gau and Lau Sing are doing in their free time, and how they are getting on with life. I think that I'm a hopeless romantic, haha!"

Starhub road show 2 @ Causeway Point

| Monday, January 24, 2011 | 0 comments |
Damn, I woke up at 12.45 pm yesterday, but the event was to start at 1 pm. That's the price I had to pay for waking up at 5 am every morning. >.< When I saw my alarm clock, I was totally shocked LOL. Thank goodness I managed to take a cab down to Causeway Point and reached at 1.15 pm, but I have already missed the first 15 minutes!

Anyway, all hail the Circle line. xD I did not managed to see the stars when I reached Changi Airport, but that wasn't my main point anyway. I knew I had no chance to meet them, but I went there in hope of seeing people from all walks of life. I only took 1 hour to travel from Woodlands to Changi Airport. North-South line, Circle line, then East-West line - all in 1 hour! All hail SMRT, LTA and blah blah blah. =D

Their flight has been retimed, and I was lagging around T1. I heard the Hong Kong people (who were about the board the same plane as them) complaining that their flight has been rescheduled because of the TVB stars. Lol, I was only behind them HAHA. xDDD Anyway, pictures! =D Sorry for the poor quality though! My camera went bonkers half-way, so I had to take the pictures using my phone. >.< Wayne sung Rosy Business' theme song, Red Butterfly! ^^

I will post a translated news article on Wayne Lai that is featured in today's Lianhe Zaobao tomorrow! =)

Sheren Tang - In search of her "Lau Sing"

| Sunday, January 23, 2011 | 8 comments |
The TV characters that Sheren Tang has played are all women with strong characters. Gau Gu Leong's viciousness has won the hearts of many; there's still 4th Wife, Hilda, Yu Fei and many other roles that leave the audience with a deep impression of her. In reality, Sheren appears to be very competitive. However, she does have a soft side to her, and wishes to be cared for as well. "What use is there for a woman to be strong?" Being a strong woman is just a facade, and this time round, Sheren lets people see the gentler side of her, and talks about romance.

Starhub road show 1 @ Causeway Point

| Saturday, January 22, 2011 | 2 comments |
Ahh! I thought the event was supposed to start at 7 pm? I got cheated! >.< The event actually started at 4 pm! I knew it yesterday, but I thought Starhub made a mistake in their official website, because until yesterday, I did not hear any news about the change in timing. I can only blame myself for not reading the Starhub advertisement on today's newspaper, but I really didn't have the time since I woke up really early to go to work. -.-''' I'm sorry that I didn't manage take many good pictures, because I arrived too late (at around 5.15 pm, and the event ended at about 5.45 pm!). Better luck tomorrow, perhaps? BUT BUT BUT, MICHAEL TSE ACTUALLY WAVED AND FLASHED HIS TEETH AT ME OMG! *faints from excitement*

I realised that the No Regrets' stars (up till now, Fala Chen and Wayne Lai) don't really make me as excited as other TVB stars (in fact, I was going gaga over Maggie Cheung Ho Yee and Michael more LOL!). Please don't get me wrong. I really love our No Regrets' stars, but maybe that's because I didn't really get to interact with them, so that's why I didn't really have any special feelings LOL. >.< I blame the position where I was at for the lack of communication and interaction. On the other hand, I managed to get really up-close to Maggie (I was only separated from her by a security personnel) and Michael actually looked directly into my eyes and grinned at me. *faints again*

I really hope to get better photos tomorrow, and hopefully, send them off in my favourite place, Changi Airport. =) Shirley, Michael and Wayne will be singing some songs tomorrow. I'm really looking forward to hearing them sing, especially Michael's. His voice is really darn good omg! *swoons again*

Wayne was really very funny though! He cracked quite a lot of jokes, and here's one of them. He wanted to say that he's very shuai (handsome in Chinese), but he ended up pronouncing it as "soiee" (seoi in jyutping), which is 衰 in Cantonese! xDDD Everybody totally ROFL-ed! =P

I Love Hong Kong @ Jurong Point

| Sunday, January 16, 2011 | 0 comments |
Haha, I'm really getting very excited though there's still about 4 more hours before the event at Jurong Point starts. xD Here are some photos from Fala Chen's Weibo!

Cast of I Love Hong Kong who are going over to Jurong Point later. I can't see very clearly who is inside though because some people got cut off!

- Credits to Fala Chen's Weibo

The event just ended, and I just reached home. I'm not sure if I should be happy or disappointed. I'm disappointed, because I didn't manage to get Fala's signature, neither did I get to talk to her. =(

The event was supposed to start at 7 pm, but the artistes themselves only came at 8.20 pm. The DJs, who were the emcees for the day, said that there was a delay in their flight. Well, I can accept that as a reason LOL, but I was quite irritated, because many people started pushing around and complaining, and gosh, the weather was really very humid! >.< And wtf, I was among the earliest to arrive, but I didn't manage to get the autographed I Love Hong Kong movie poster all because they only gave the posters to those people who were standing at the side. -.-'''

Yeah, so the event started late, and ended quite early. The whole thing felt quite rushed to me LOL. I believed that if they had arrived earlier, we fans could have interacted more with them, and I would have probably gotten the artistes' autographs. I really hope that next Saturday's and Sunday's meeting with Wayne Lai won't be like that. =(

But overall, it was really a very nice feeling to see all the familiar TVB stars whom I've grown up watching. <3 They were all very friendly, and I absolutely love it when they spoke Cantonese! =D I shall tell you guys something. Maggie Cheung Ho Yee totally made my day by smiling and waving at me while we (crazy fans) were stalking them all the way to Jurong Point's car-park. Gossshhhhh!!! *faints*

Leo Ku wins "Most Popular Theme Song" award

On the 15th January 2011 at 8.30 pm, the 2010 TVB Jade Solid Gold Music Award Ceremony was held in Hong Kong. Leo Ku won the Most Popular TV Theme Song award based on his song Righteous Sea of Heroic Love, the theme song of TVB drama No Regrets.

No Regrets, which just managed to win all the important prizes during the TVB Awards ceremony, has passed on its good luck to the singer of its theme song, Leo Ku. Leo did not forget to thank 'Sing Gor' Wayne Lai and 'Gau Gu Leong' Sheren Tang, whose popularity has been soaring ever since the drama started airing. Besides, Leo did not forget to thank TVB and the emcee, Louis Yuen.

Comments: Congratulations, Leo! Absolutely well-deserved! =D

Fala Chen is coming to Singapore!

| Saturday, January 15, 2011 | 0 comments |
Eric Tsang competes with Jay Chou and Jack Neo in the box office ratings by promoting a bevy of pretty girls. He will be leading about 20 TVB stars to "snatch" away the red packets!

I Love Hong Kong, which will come out on 3rd February, will be competing with many other movies which will be aired at around the same time. According to the latest news, Eric and 20 TVB stars will come to Singapore this coming Sunday, on the 16th.

Among them are many sexy stars such as Fala Chen, Angela Tong, and Ms Hong Kong Samantha Ko. It can be seen that Eric has the intention of using them to "snatch" his market share.

- FOR FULL STORY, PLEASE READ YESTERDAY'S (14/01/2011) LIANHE ZAOBAO!!!! -

First, Wayne will be at Causeway Point, which is pretty near my house! Fala will be at Jurong Point, which is EVEN NEARER my house since it's super near my ex-school, which is only about 1/2 hour bus-ride from home! So hip hip hooray! Damn shiok ah! =DDDDDDDDDD

More information will be posted up! And serious? 20 TVB stars? I wonder who are the rest! ^^

When will I get to see my other No Regrets' stars?!?! Sheren Tang, where are you?! *coughs very violently* If other No Regrets' casts/crew are reading this, I don't mind giving you all a free tour of Singapore HAHA! xD

Wayne's trip to Singapore

| Friday, January 14, 2011 | 0 comments |

On the 22nd and 23rd of January, I will be in Singapore to do promotion, and I believe that I will have the chance to interact with my fans from this country. On the 30th of this month, I will be in Malaysia's Genting to countdown to Chinese New Year. This year is a rare opportunity for me to meet fans from all over the world since I have travelled a lot this year. First, I was in Beijing and Guangzhou, Macau, and will soon be in Singapore, Malaysia and Canada. I won't have the chance to go to some places, but I hope that in the near future, I will be able to travel to more places and meet up with my fans.

Comments: I would really love to pick Wayne up from Changi Airport! After all, Changi Airport is my most favourite place in Singapore. Everybody who knows me knows that the airport is like my second home. So naturally, I'm very happy that Wayne will get to see how brilliant Changi Airport is. Unfortunately, I think I'll have to work, so I think I'll just fan-girl over him at Causeway Point! Yay! Finally a place that is rather close to my house! =D

And and and, is this pure coincidence or what, but I actually asked Wayne to come to Singapore in my letter to him! So No Regrets' fans, thank me! Nah, I'm joking! =D I really can't contain my excitement! I'm really looking forward to seeing Michael (he's one of my favs too!) and Shirley, whom I have quite a good impression of after watching A Fistful of Stances and A Chip Off The Old Block! ^^

I'll ask Wayne to sign my TVB Weekly #700 and #702! =D Don't snatch him away from me ah! xD

New header!

Hey fellow No Regrets' fans! =D I've finally changed my header! Many thanks to tantsy for helping me create this header! How is it? xDDD

And and and, I'm really very sorry for not updating! I'm terribly busy with work since Chinese New Year is approaching. In fact, I'm even busier now than I was when I was still in school! I leave the house very early (like around 6+ am), and get home at 11+ pm almost every night. Thank goodness I knocked off a little earlier today, hence I'm able to blog! xD

Still, thank you all for your support! ^^ And I'm really thankful for meeting new friends (you people know who you are haha!) because of a common love for this drama! <3

Don't expect me to update much until Chinese New Year is over! =/

Most influential artistes

| Monday, January 10, 2011 | 0 comments |
7th place - Sheren Tang

During last year's TVB awards ceremony, Sheren Tang won the Best Actress awards consecutively for 2 years, setting a brand new record for TVB. Having set such a record, the competition between TVB fadans have gotten so intense that "biological daughter" Charmaine Sheh feels awkward. There were also rumours that TVB wanted to sign on Sheren.

It has always been the case for female artistes in TVB that the more experienced you are, the better you are. After experiencing many emotional set-backs, Sheren Tang has finally hit a new career peak. No Regrets' Tang Gau Mui rode on the success of 4th Wife (Rosy Business), and has become one of the most outstanding characters in the history of TVB dramas. Although Sheren plans to cut down on the number of TVB dramas she films next year, but she has earned a lot of money in the Mainland. It seems that she will continue to shine and grab as much attention as she did this year.

Comments: Cheng Gau Mui is definitely one of the best TV characters I've ever seen, and is definitely one of Sheren's representative roles! ^^

Hooray! Sheren Tang is on The Southern Link's cover! =D She's really so very pretty! ^^ Here are the magazine scans. I'm going down to Chinatown tomorrow and see whether the magazine is still there! I hope it's still there, but the magazine is quite expensive! =/ But still, it'd better be there! =P Thanks Zesa for the tip! ^^

Comments: Sheren is really very very pretty here! <333333 This magazine looks very familiar. I think it can be found in Popular and other major bookstores. Don't go to Chinatown and snatch the copy away from me ah! ^^

Update: I've already gotten my magazine! ^^ I will re-upload the scans when I have the time to scan the magazine! For those who want the magazine, I think it's still available! Do notify me if you want it! ;)

Sheren Tang and Wayne Lai @ Charity Walk

TVBE clip

Sheren Tang and her on-screen partner, Wayne Lai, together with other colleagues from TVB, attended a walk to raise money for charity. She revealed that she did something like this when she first entered the entertainment sector, but hasn't been doing so for the past few years due to the lack of time.

No Regrets is Hong Kong's drama of the year

| Saturday, January 8, 2011 | 0 comments |
@Eileen Cha (famous entertainment personality): On the whole, be it the setting or the emotional scenes of the drama, they are already a sure-win for No Regrets. The drama takes place in a particularly chaotic time period, and involves the Japanese Occupation. Most Hong Kong viewers do not really like to watch such genres, but both the male and female leads were able to portray their roles very well, and this naturally attracted more people to watch. The whole drama is quite sad, and moreover, it is placed at the 8.30 pm slot, so it isn't a good arrangement. Both Wayne Lai and Sheren Tang were able to win TV King and Queen for the second year running, and have won the hearts of the netizens once again. This proves that a capable back-stage crew triumphs over glitzy facades that just merely attracts the audience.

OST for No Regrets?

| Friday, January 7, 2011 | 2 comments |

TV King Wayne Lai attended the press conference for Yan Chai Charity Show yesterday. He revealed that he would be singing many classic songs for the charity show itself, so he had been practising hard. He said that when his son was born about 10 over years ago, he would be singing children songs for him. Even if he goes back to the music scene now, he won't have a chance to get the Best Newcomer award. He said that he is best at singing Roman Tam's and Adam Cheng's songs, but he only got his chance when Rosy Business became such a big hit.

Wayne heard that many people have actually praised No Regrets for having very good background music, and they also wanted TVB to come up with the OST for it. He also revealed that Producer Lee Tim Shing had discussed with TVB executive Catherine Tsang about the OST for No Regrets, but was not sure whether it would materialise or not.

Comments: Yes yes yes! I want the OST please! ^^ I'm glad to note that we are not the only ones who think that the background music used is really good! =D

2010 Top 10 Classic TV Characters

| Thursday, January 6, 2011 | 0 comments |

This a a character that has been anticipated by many. Thankfully, Cheng Gau Mui did not let us down. From Rosy Business' 4th Wife to No Regrets' Cheng Gau Mui, what never changed was the aura of royalty that surrounded her. She was the head of the underground society in times of chaos. She's clever, confidant, loves playing tricks and is able to draw the audience in no matter what. She is just like a queen bee; beautiful, but also possessive. However, on the other hand, she is actually a very pitiful person and a righteous angel who hates herself for not being able to change the way they live. She may be scheming, but she respects life as well. All these conflicting characteristics are shown on one person, and this has molded a Cheng Gau Mui that everybody has grown to respect, love, fear and even pity.

Taking a look at TVB, Sheren Tang is probably the only person who can take on such a complicated role. From her eyes, her expressions, dialogues and even movements... There is virtually nothing to pick about. Some people say that she's just playing the opposite role of 4th Wife. I have to say that these people did not watch carefully. Sheren has even became the first ever actress to win the Best Actress award back-to-back, so this says a lot about Cheng Gau Mui.

- Credits to Sohu TV Weekly

Comments: This list is based on dramas and shows from the whole of China (includes Taiwan and Hong Kong). It's a pretty impressive feat for Gau Mui to be placed at Number 5 when the rest of the list are virtually characters from Mainland dramas! o.O'''

Fan-made No Regrets calendar

| Monday, January 3, 2011 | 10 comments |
Here are some photos of the fan-made No Regrets calendar! I've received the calendar already, and it's really very pretty! =D Thanks Zesa for saving the photos and helping me buy the calendar! ^^ I will feel the motivation to study if I put it on my study table heehee (but to be honest, I won't have to go to school from now till results are released)! =D

A must-have for fans of Sing Gau and fans of No Regrets! =)

For more details, please email me!!!

And wtf, I just realised that the first picture looked like RV's ASK journal. >.<

Anyway, the original No Regrets DVD is out in Hong Kong, and it cost about HKD$500, which is about SGD$82.60. Actually, I'm not sure if this is considered expensive for BVT dramas in Singapore, because BVT dramas are atrociously expensive in Singapore (I remember seeing Beyond the Realm of Conscience selling for about $150 before the price dropped, and Rosy Business was about $120 before I managed to get it at half price). So... If you want the cheaper deal, ask people from Hong Kong to help you get it, because when the DVDs start selling in Singapore, be prepared to wait for a long time before the price drops to a reasonable range. >.< I think I will surely get the DVDs, because my parents love this drama (I'm quite surprised, but they decided to give it a go when I was re-watching it heehee!), but when? I don't know.

Comments: Congratulations to No Regrets for winning the most popular drama award for year 2010! Producer Lee really looked very happy! =D Righteous Sea of Heroic Love, which is sung by Leo Ku, also won the most popular TV theme song award! Congratulations! =) By the way, did Evergreen, Fala and Raymond win awards too? What awards did they win? o.O'''

Wayne Lai hopes that 2011 will be a happy year

| Saturday, January 1, 2011 | 0 comments |
Stepping into 2011, we have just send off the first 10 years of 2000. Looking back, we have indeed come a long way. What significance did 2010 hold for our artistes, and what do they hope for in the new year?

Wayne Lai - I hope that everybody will be happy for the new year. The most satisfying thing that I did in 2010 was to film No Regrets, which was such a marvellous drama. It was such a pity that we lost out on the Best Drama award, because personally, and based on public's opinions, we were already the best. In 2011, I hope that Tim Gor and Wah Biu will work together again, and of course, I must be included inside!

- Credits to Singpao

Comments: I want them to collaborate again, but is this really possible? I don't think Cheung Wah Biu is going to return to BVT anymore, and even if he does, I don't think he'll be treated nicely. Hmph.
